OPEN UP your heart and HELP US make a difference to children

Heart Pillow For some women the term get away from it all
doesn't mean a vacation. An escape is just that.
It means digging deep and finding the courage, resources and support to leave a situation of family violence and a home that is no longer safe for them and their children. Or, perhaps a single mother wants and needs to create a better life for herself and her children. Perhaps a mother is temporarily having trouble coping and need a place where their children can be safe. There are many women and children in crisis. There are many stories and many needs. You can send them some love.

Help a Mom help her children

There are thousands of children who who have been exposed to family violence, poverty and homelessness and they don't own one of the simplest things - a pair of pajamas. They are living in local shelters, group homes or temporary housing.

Putting on a new pair of cozy Pajamas feels just like getting a hug - safe, secure and loved. The warmth they provide is felt deep into the heart.

Give a new pair of pajamas to a child and you'll be giving hope. Help to make the end of a hard day a little softer at a time in their lives when they feel most vulnerable.

Who Will Benefit

The Pajama Party supports Childrens Cottage Society and Discovery House in Calgary and in the rural Municipal District of Foothills Rowan House whose wish list includes pajamas for boys and girls in sizes ranging from newborn to 12 years. In the Edmonton region we are happy to support Kids Kottage the Dream Centre.

Our first Pajama Drive was held in 2010 and was a huge success. We were able to donate over 200 pairs of Pajamas just in time for the kids to have new PJ's for Valentine's Day.

What Can You Do?

Help the women and their children in your area.

Have a Pajama Drive or Benefit Party with your community or group.
Host a Pajama Party for grown-up girls and ask friends to bring a pair of Pajamas to donate.
Teach your children about giving at a kids sleepover or birthday party.

Support an organization in your area that help children in crisis by giving them the Pajamas you have collected. You can also make a Donation at The Pajama Party event or send it to our Pajama Party Headquarters. We will donate it on your behalf.

"In times of crisis when children visit our Crisis Nursery, they do not pack a bag or bring any of their personal belongings. This is why your donation of pajamas are so important to the Children's Cottage. These items are much needed and provide them with the things they would expect to have at home.

Staying in a new place can sometimes be scary for these young ones, but because of your donation you have helped make their stay a little more comfortable, keeping them warm in their bed and helping them sleep tight at night!
